Castaways Point Park Fishing

Castaways Point Park is a City of Palm Bay riverfront park at 2990 Bay Boulevard NE, where two short fishing piers joined by a boardwalk reach into the Indian River Lagoon and the city lists a fish cleaning station. It reopened in January 2025 after a shoreline stabilization project that added a new observation deck and the boardwalk between the piers. Anglers fish the pier ends and shoreline for spotted seatrout, redfish and black drum all year, snook and mangrove snapper in the warm months, sheepshead in winter, and jacks and ladyfish during the fall mullet run. Live shrimp under a cork or on a bottom rig is the standard bait. The breeze, not the tide, moves the water here. The park is open 7 a.m. to sunset, with restrooms, pavilions and a kayak launch. Lightning and heat are the main hazards.
