Panama City Beach offers a strong run of piers and surf beaches, with backwater parks, a jetty and a bridge filling out the rest. Russell-Fields City Pier, just over a mile from the center, brings in Spanish mackerel, king mackerel and redfish. M.B. Miller County Pier, about 4 miles out, rates highest nearby and adds cobia to the catch.

Crooked Creek Park, a backwater spot under 7 miles away, holds redfish, spotted seatrout and black drum.
