Best fishing spots in Bayou La Batre

Shore fishing is scarce around Bayou La Batre while the city docks are rebuilt, so the city's own Rolston Park in Coden, about 3 miles away, stays busy. Its Craig Bryant Memorial Pier runs about 100 feet over Portersville Bay for speckled and white trout, croaker and redfish, with sheepshead and black drum on cool days.

Delta Port Marina, about 7 miles southeast, is a public launch with a fishing pier on the West Fowl River, good for trout, redfish and flounder when the water is salty. The Fowl River Access Site, also about 7 miles away, is a quiet federal landing on the East Fowl River for anglers who want a bank to themselves.
