Eau Gallie Causeway Fishing

6.6· Bridge · Indian Harbour Beach, FL

Free: No entry fee; free unpaved parking at the ramp (checked Sep 27, 2026)

The Eau Gallie Causeway (SR 518) crosses the Indian River Lagoon between Melbourne's Eau Gallie district and the barrier island beaches, and Brevard County lists a 180-foot fishing catwalk with its boat ramp on the causeway: the catwalk runs beside the east end of the main bridge. Seatrout, redfish and black drum feed around the bridge and the grass flats beside it, snook and mangrove snapper hold on the pilings in the warm months, and sheepshead arrive in winter. Live shrimp on a popping cork or near the pilings is the standard bait. The county lists the ramp as open from dawn to dusk every day, with free unpaved parking for about 20 cars with trailers and a portable toilet. Watch for ramp traffic, lightning and wind-blown chop on the open lagoon.
