Jacksonville Beach Pier Fishing

7.6· Pier · Neptune Beach, FL

Fee to fish: Daily fishing pass, which covers the fishing license on the pier (checked Sep 27, 2026)

The Jacksonville Beach Pier reaches about 1,300 feet into the Atlantic from 1st Street North, making it the longest and best-equipped pier on the First Coast. Its length puts anglers over the outer bars and into deeper water: whiting, croaker, spot and pompano on the bottom, bluefish and Spanish mackerel on their runs, black drum, sheepshead and redfish around the pilings, and king mackerel, cobia and tarpon from the end in summer. Tides here run several feet, so fish the moving water. The pier is open 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and its daily fishing fee, the pier says, covers your license; there is a bait shop with rod rentals. Watch for surf, rip currents and summer lightning.
