Tideviews Preserve is a City of Jacksonville park beside Atlantic Boulevard in the Atlantic Beach area, where a long boardwalk leaves the woods and runs west across open salt marsh to a viewing platform above a winding tidal creek. The city lists fishing here, and the platform lets you work the creek bends for redfish and seatrout, with flounder on the bottom in summer and fall and sheepshead and black drum in winter. A light rod with live shrimp under a float, or a small jig, is all you need. The city opens the preserve at 7 a.m. and closes it at sundown, and lists restrooms, picnic tables and a launch for canoes and kayaks. Expect biting insects on still evenings, and walk back off the boardwalk before a storm arrives.
