Stuart Causeway Fishing

6.9· Bridge · Sewall's Point, FL

Free: No fee; free parking at the causeway boat-ramp park (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Stuart Causeway carries Ocean Boulevard (A1A) across the Indian River Lagoon from Sewall's Point to Hutchinson Island over the Ernest F. Lyons Bridge, a few miles inside the St. Lucie Inlet. Anglers fish the causeway shoreline and the bridge's shadow lines from the causeway island, where tide from the inlet sweeps past bridge pilings and grass edges. Snook are the main target, with mangrove snapper, sheepshead, jacks and ladyfish around the structure and winter pompano along sandy channel edges. Seatrout and redfish use the grass flats. Fish moving tide, especially the incoming, and nights for snook. Parking is free at the causeway boat-ramp park. Watch for boat traffic, fast road traffic on the causeway, stingrays on the flats and summer lightning.
