Robert K. Rees Memorial Park, known locally as Green Key Beach, is a 45-acre Pasco County park on a small key joined to the mainland by a causeway west of New Port Richey. It has a rare sandy beach on this marshy coast, a boardwalk through the mangroves to a lookout, and fishing access onto shallow grass flats, oyster bars and mangrove creeks. Spotted seatrout and redfish are the mainstays, with snook, ladyfish and jacks in the warm months, Spanish mackerel passing in spring and fall, and sheepshead and black drum in winter. Live shrimp under a popping cork, a soft plastic on a light jighead or a gold spoon covers most of it. Fish the higher half of the tide, because very low water drains the flats. The park reopened in July 2025 after repairs. Watch for swimmers, oysters, stingrays and summer lightning.
