St. Andrews State Park Gulf Pier Fishing

Fee to fish: State park vehicle entrance fee covers pier fishing (checked Sep 27, 2026)

The Gulf pier at St. Andrews State Park runs out from the park's beach west of the jetties at the east end of Panama City Beach, and it reopened in full in August 2025 after storm-damaged supports were repaired. It puts anglers over clear Gulf water near St. Andrews Pass, and the park lists Spanish mackerel, redfish, flounder, speckled trout, bonito, cobia and bluefish among its catches, with pompano and whiting in the troughs along the beach. Fish spoons and gotcha plugs for mackerel, shrimp or sand fleas near the pilings, and a bucktail for spring cobia. The park is open 8 a.m. to sunset, and the $8 per-vehicle entry covers the piers. The park's Camp Store sells bait, tackle and ice. Hazards are summer lightning, strong sun, busy rails and rip currents off the beach.
