Fee to fish: Day-use parking fee; registered campers have separate access (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Long Point Park is an 84.5-acre Brevard County campground and river park on an island in the Indian River Lagoon, under two miles north of Sebastian Inlet, with shoreline campsites, a 100-foot bridge for fishing to Scout Island, a small fishing dock and a fish cleaning station. This close to the inlet it sees more tidal flow than most of the lagoon; snook, redfish and spotted seatrout are the mainstays, with black drum and sheepshead in winter, mangrove snapper in summer, and jacks, ladyfish, flounder and tarpon when the fall mullet run moves through. Live shrimp, finger mullet and soft plastics along the grass and mangrove edges catch most fish. Tidal flow from the inlet helps, and wind matters too. Day visitors pay a parking fee, and campers have round-the-clock access. Watch for boats and lightning, and give the alligators and manatees on the county's wildlife list plenty of room.
