Joe Carlucci Sisters Creek Park Fishing

Joe Carlucci Sisters Creek Park and Boat Ramp sits where Sisters Creek, part of the Intracoastal Waterway, meets the St. Johns River in northeast Jacksonville. The strong tidal current of the river mouth makes the shoreline here a good spot for redfish, black drum, sheepshead, seatrout and flounder, and in summer the creek fills with croaker and jacks. Fish cut bait or shrimp on the bottom with enough lead to hold, or live shrimp under a cork along the edges, on the moving tide. The city lists the park as open around the clock, with restrooms, picnic shelters, grills and a large lot for cars and trailers. City code bans fishing from the floating boat docks and within 30 feet of the ramps, so fish the shoreline beyond them, watch the current, and leave early when summer storms build.
