Jim King Park at Sisters Creek is a City of Jacksonville park and boat ramp on Heckscher Drive, built on a former commercial marina where Sisters Creek runs toward the St. Johns River, and the city lists fishing among its amenities. A palm-lined waterfront and the old marina's concrete wall give shore anglers solid footing above fast-moving tidal water. Redfish, black drum and sheepshead are the mainstays, with seatrout and flounder on the moving tide, croaker and spot in the warmer months, and jacks chasing bait in summer and fall. Cut bait and shrimp on a weighted bottom rig do most of the work. Tides run roughly three to five and a half feet, twice a day. The park is open around the clock with free parking, restrooms and picnic tables. City code keeps anglers off the ramps, floating docks and walkways, so watch the signs and the strong current.
