White Street Pier Fishing

6.9· Pier · Key West, FL

Also called Edward B. Knight Pier

Free: Free entry to the pier (checked Sep 27, 2026)

White Street Pier, officially the Edward B. Knight Pier, runs well out from the south shore of Key West at the end of White Street, over clear Atlantic water. It is free, and because Key West's code lists it as a city park, it is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Small bottom rigs with shrimp or cut bait take mangrove, lane and yellowtail snapper and grunts, while jigs and live pilchards turn up Spanish mackerel, jacks, barracuda and the odd permit or tarpon. Nurse sharks and bonnetheads cruise the shallows in the evening. Fish the moving tide, especially from late afternoon into the evening before closing. Street parking is along Atlantic Boulevard at the base, there are no restrooms on the pier, and afternoon lightning is the main hazard.
