T-Pier, Valparaiso Fishing

6.5· Pier · Valparaiso, FL

Free: No fee listed to fish the pier (checked Sep 27, 2026)

The T-Pier is the City of Valparaiso's fishing pier on North Bayshore Drive, reaching out over Boggy Bayou, the sheltered arm of Choctawhatchee Bay between Valparaiso and Niceville. The city describes it as a pier with plenty of room that is popular with local anglers, and it has two fish cleaning stations, running water and 24-hour restrooms. The bayou holds speckled trout, redfish and white trout, with croaker, flounder and sheepshead around the pilings and big schools of mullet through summer and fall. Fish live shrimp under a cork or on the bottom, small jigs and cut bait, and focus on moving water and low light. The bayou is calm and sheltered, which makes this an easy family spot. Watch for summer lightning, hooks around children and a slick deck by the cleaning stations.
