Lighthouse Park, St. Augustine Fishing

6.6· Pier · St. Augustine, FL

Free: Free boat ramp; no fee listed for the pier (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Lighthouse Park is a City of St. Augustine park and boat ramp on Salt Run, the sheltered tidal lagoon inside Anastasia Island, and its long wooden Lighthouse Pier is posted as a fishing pier reaching out over the lagoon. Redfish, spotted seatrout, flounder and black drum feed along Salt Run on the tide, sheepshead gather on pilings in winter, and bluefish, jacks and ladyfish slip in from the nearby inlet. Live shrimp under a cork and mud minnows on the bottom are the go-to baits, fished while water moves in or out, twice each day. The city's rules allow fishing from the pier only, not from the boat-ramp dock or the beach. The park is open dawn to dusk, with public restrooms, picnic tables and grills, but parking is limited and shared with boat trailers. Give way to boaters at the ramp.
