Palm Valley East Boat Ramp is a St. Johns County ramp tucked under the County Road 210 bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway in Palm Valley, near Ponte Vedra Beach, and the county describes it as ideal for boating and fishing; anglers also fish from the shoreline beside the ramp. The bridge pilings, the channel edge and the sandbar drop-offs hold redfish, black drum and sheepshead, with mangrove snapper in summer and flounder and trout in the fall. Cut bait or shrimp on a weighted bottom rig works best in the current, and a jig along the drop-offs finds trout and flounder. The tide here is big, roughly four to nearly six feet, so the water runs hard and the turns are the prime time. Parking sits under the bridge, with portable restrooms, and the ramp is open dawn to dusk. Stay clear of boats and trailers.
