Fort Pierce Inlet State Park North Jetty Fishing

Fee to fish: State park entrance fee per vehicle (checked Sep 27, 2026)

The north jetty of Fort Pierce Inlet runs out from Fort Pierce Inlet State Park on North Hutchinson Island, and the inlet shoreline at its base, called Dynamite Point, and the beach beside it are some of the best land-based fishing on the Treasure Coast; the park itself calls it one of the hottest places to fish from land. Snook are the headline, especially during the fall mullet run, with bluefish, Spanish mackerel and pompano in winter, and jacks, snapper, sheepshead, redfish and flounder around the rocks. Tarpon roll through the inlet in summer and fall. Fish the tide changes and early morning. The state park charges a per-vehicle entrance fee and is open 8 a.m. until sunset, so there is no night fishing. The jetty rocks are slippery and uneven, the inlet current is strong, and boat traffic and swell at the mouth demand care.
