South Jetty Park, Fort Pierce Fishing

7.8· Jetty · St. Lucie Village, FL

Free: No fee; free parking at the park (checked Sep 27, 2026)

South Jetty Park sits at the end of Seaway Drive on the south side of Fort Pierce Inlet, where a jetty with a walkway runs out toward the ocean. It is a local hotspot, especially at dawn: snook are the prize, joined by jacks, sheepshead, mangrove snapper, ladyfish, bluefish and Spanish mackerel, with pompano, flounder and redfish in season and tarpon rolling in the inlet in summer and fall. Fish the tide changes, and the incoming for clear water. The park has free parking, restrooms and outdoor showers, and the closures for the spring 2026 beach renourishment have ended. Watch for slippery rock beyond the walkway, strong current, boat traffic and summer lightning.
