Lee Wenner Park is a City of Cocoa riverfront park at the west foot of the Hubert Humphrey Bridge (State Road 520) in Cocoa Village, and the city lists fishing among its features. A paved path circles the little point beside the bridge above a rock-lined shore, and the park joins Cocoa Riverfront Park and the Indian River boardwalk to the south. The bridge, the rocks and the deeper Intracoastal channel nearby hold black drum, sheepshead, spotted seatrout and redfish, with snook, jacks, ladyfish and mangrove snapper in the warm months. Shrimp fished tight to the rocks or under a cork is the simple approach. The lagoon has almost no tide here, so wind and light drive the fishing. There are restrooms, a covered pavilion, parking and four boat ramps, and city code opens the park from 7 a.m. until sunset. Mind the busy ramps and summer storms.
