Centennial Fishing Pier

6.7· Pier · Charlotte County, FL

Free: No fee listed to fish this pier (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Centennial Fishing Pier is a small Charlotte County pier over mangrove-lined Coral Creek, on the north side of Gasparilla Road at Placida, just up the creek from Gasparilla Sound. The county's Placida and Boca Grande piers on the causeway were badly damaged by Hurricanes Helene and Milton and remain closed long-term, so this is the public pier for the Placida area; it reopened in July 2026 after a brief closure. It is tidal-creek fishing: snook and redfish along the mangrove edges, mangrove snapper and sheepshead around the pilings, trout and black drum in the cooler months and juvenile tarpon in summer. Fish the moving tide with live shrimp. No fee is listed, the county lists a portable toilet, and dogs are not allowed on the pier. Bring bug spray at dusk.
