Seafood Landing Park Fishing

6.4· Pier · Apalachicola, FL

Free: No entry fee; no launch fee either (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Seafood Landing Park is Franklin County's 3.4-acre waterfront park on US 98 just west of Apalachicola, with a public boat ramp, a kayak launch, a fishing dock, a boardwalk, restrooms, covered picnic tables and grills. It is home to the county's Maritime Heritage Museum, in the renovated Lombardi oyster plant, and was dedicated in 2019 to seafood advocate Olan "Buddy" Ward. Its boardwalks cross the marsh to a sheltered channel behind a wooded island that opens into Apalachicola Bay, where redfish, speckled trout, black drum, sheepshead and flounder bite year-round, with croaker, white trout and the odd Spanish mackerel in the warm months. Fish shrimp or crab on the bottom around the dock on a moving tide, and soft plastics or a popping cork along the shoreline. Keep well clear of boats using the ramp, and get off the water when summer storms build.
