Williams Park, Riverview Fishing

6.9· Backwater · Hillsborough County, FL

Free: No fee to fish; separate charge to launch a boat (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Williams Park is a Hillsborough County boat ramp park on the lower Alafia River in Riverview, right beside the US 41 bridge and a short run upstream from Hillsborough Bay. As well as its four-lane ramp, the county provides shore fishing areas along the riverbank. The lower Alafia is tidal and brackish, and snook are the main target, moving up the river in the cooler months, along with redfish, jacks, sheepshead and drum around the bridge pilings, and tarpon rolling in summer. Fish a moving tide with live shrimp, pilchards or soft plastics along the bank and the bridge shadows. The park is open sunrise to sunset, with restrooms, picnic shelters and a playground, and the only fee the county lists is for launching a boat. It is a busy ramp: keep clear of boats, and never wade, which the county forbids.
