Fee to fish: Small per-vehicle entrance fee (checked Sep 27, 2026)

E.G. Simmons Conservation Park is a Hillsborough County park on the eastern shore of Tampa Bay, three miles north of Ruskin, built on 258 acres of mangrove islands and tidal waterways. The county names it one of its best saltwater fishing parks and lets you fish from its piers and banks for spotted seatrout, redfish and snook along the mangrove edges, with sheepshead and black drum in the cooler months and ladyfish and jacks in summer. A moving tide, especially the incoming early in the day, fishes best. Entry is a small per-vehicle fee, and the park is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in spring and summer and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in fall and winter. Restrooms, showers and a campground are on site. Wading is not allowed outside the swimming area, so fish from the piers and banks, and watch for summer lightning.
