Jensen Beach Causeway Fishing

7.4· Bridge · Ocean Breeze, FL

Free: No fee; free county parking at the causeway parks (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Jensen Beach Causeway carries Northeast Causeway Boulevard across the Indian River Lagoon from Jensen Beach to Hutchinson Island, with Martin County causeway parks, boat ramps and a long fishing pier on the west island, beside the Frank A. Wacha Bridge. It is a classic Treasure Coast lagoon spot: snook hold on the bridge pilings and shadow lines, mangrove snapper and sheepshead work the structure, jacks and ladyfish chase bait, and spotted seatrout and redfish use the grass flats alongside. Pompano run through the lagoon in winter. Moving tide is essential, though the lagoon's tide is small. County code keeps causeway parks and fishing piers open at all times, and the ramps have free parking, restrooms and picnic areas. Watch for boat traffic at the ramps and under the spans, and summer lightning.
