Boca Raton Inlet is a narrow, fast inlet on Boca Raton's beach, and the rock jetty on its south side at South Inlet Park is one of the best-known snook spots in southern Palm Beach County. Anglers walk the flat top of the jetty and fish the inside wall and the inlet mouth with live bait and jigs for snook, crevalle jack, mangrove snapper and passing tarpon, while the beach outside the guarded swimming area gives pompano, bluefish and Spanish mackerel in the cooler months. The tide change is everything: the best bite comes in the first and last hour of each Atlantic tide. South Inlet Park is a small county park with a paid lot, restrooms, showers and lifeguards; the park closes at sunset, but the county lists the jetty as open 24 hours. Take care on the unrailed jetty and keep clear of heavy boat traffic.
