Fee to fish: Entry requires city beach permit or paid daily fee (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Red Reef Park is a City of Boca Raton beach park at 1400 North Ocean Boulevard, a long strip of dune, boardwalks and guarded sand between South Beach Park and Spanish River Park. City rules ban fishing in the designated swimming areas during swimming hours, and lifeguard towers stand every 500 to 650 feet along the beach, so the practical windows are the hour after the 8 a.m. opening and the evening after the guards leave, with the park open until 10 p.m. most nights. Those sessions suit snook in the first trough, pompano and whiting from fall into spring, and jacks, bluefish and Spanish mackerel when bait passes. Keep well away from the snorkel reef off the south end. Tides turn twice a day, entry costs a daily fee per car without a city beach permit, and rip currents and summer lightning are the hazards.
