John D. MacArthur Beach State Park Fishing

6.5· Beach · North Palm Beach, FL

Fee to fish: State park entrance fee per vehicle or per person (checked Sep 27, 2026)

John D. MacArthur Beach State Park covers the north end of Singer Island in North Palm Beach, with more than a mile and a half of unguarded Atlantic beach reached by a 1,600-foot boardwalk across the Lake Worth Cove estuary. Surf anglers work the beach away from swimmers for pompano, whiting and bluefish from late fall into spring, and for snook, jacks and tarpon along the beach and the shallow rocks near shore in the warm months and the fall mullet run. The cove behind the dunes can be fished by wading or from a kayak for snook, mangrove snapper and jacks. Fish the moving tide early or late in the day. The park is open from 8 a.m. to sunset and charges a small per-vehicle entry fee. There are no lifeguards, so watch for rip currents and leave the beach when lightning builds.
