R.E. Olds Park Fishing

6.9· Pier · Oldsmar, FL

Free: No charge to enter or fish; free parking (checked Sep 27, 2026)

R.E. Olds Park is Oldsmar's waterfront park on upper Old Tampa Bay, and its 400-foot wooden fishing pier lets you fish the bay from a deck. Hurricanes Helene and Milton damaged the pier in 2024; most of it reopened in July 2025, and the rebuilt outer end reopened in April 2026. The shallow, warm water around it holds snook, redfish, spotted seatrout and black drum, with sheepshead on the pilings in winter and tarpon rolling through in summer. Fish a moving tide with live shrimp, pilchards or a soft plastic. The park has free parking, restrooms, picnic areas and a big playground, and it is listed as open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Leave the pier when summer storms build.
