Crescent Beachfront Park Fishing

6.3· Beach · St. Augustine Beach, FL

Free: Free to park and walk on; driving onto the sand needs a seasonal pass (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Crescent Beachfront Park is a St. Johns County park at Crescent Beach, south of St. Augustine beside the State Road 206 intersection on A1A, and its Cubbedge Road ramp is one of the places where the county lets four-wheel-drive vehicles onto the sand. Anglers can set up beside the vehicle; there is also a big lot and an accessible boardwalk. The beach gives whiting and pompano through the cooler months, bluefish on the spring and fall runs, redfish and black drum in winter, and Spanish mackerel in summer. Clam, shrimp and sand fleas on dropper rigs catch most of them as the tide rises. The park is open dawn to dusk with restrooms, showers and two pavilions. A driving pass is needed from March through September, a lifeguard tower is staffed in summer, and the county bans shark fishing from the beach. Drive slowly and mind rip currents.
