Usina Boat Ramp Fishing

6.7· Pier · St. Augustine, FL

Free: Free county boat ramp (checked Sep 27, 2026)

The Usina Boat Ramp is a free St. Johns County facility on the Intracoastal Waterway (the Tolomato River) at the north end of Vilano Beach, and alongside its double ramp and docks it has a fishing pier with a cleaning table. The tidal river here holds redfish, black drum, flounder and spotted seatrout, with sheepshead around structure in the cooler months and mangrove snapper, jacks and ladyfish in summer. Fish shrimp, mud minnows or cut mullet on the bottom, or live shrimp under a popping cork, on moving water; the St. Augustine Inlet a few miles south drives strong tides through this stretch. The facility is open from dawn to dusk, with restrooms, showers and parking. Keep clear of launching boats and watch for wakes and strong current.
