Daytona Beach Surf at Williams Avenue Ramp Fishing
6.1· Beach· Holly Hill, FL
The northern end of Daytona Beach's driving beach, from the Williams Avenue ramp up to the Harvard Drive ramp, is a long, open run of sand in a mostly residential and low-rise area, well away from the pier crowds. The beach is open to fishing around the clock. The catch is the same as along the rest of the Daytona surf: whiting and pompano on sand fleas and shrimp, with bluefish, flounder and drum when conditions suit. Walk a few hundred yards from the ramp and you will have plenty of room. Beach driving is allowed in posted hours, so park above the tide line and watch for moving vehicles. Rip currents and summer lightning are the main hazards.
