Fee to fish: State park entrance fee per vehicle (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Tomoka State Park sits on a peninsula along the Tomoka River north of Ormond Beach, and the park lists an accessible fishing pier and dock beside a boat ramp that opens onto the river's tidal creeks and marshes. A state survey has recorded 90 fish species in the Tomoka River, and the park names redfish, black drum, sheepshead, spotted seatrout, snook and tarpon among the game fish. Fish shrimp or cut bait on the bottom for drum and redfish, a popping cork or soft plastic for trout, and live bait around structure for snook. Tides are small but flood the salt marshes daily, so fish the moving water. The park opens at 8 a.m. and closes at sunset, charges an entrance fee, and has a boat ramp, canoe and kayak rentals, a concession, picnic pavilions, restrooms and a campground. Rattlesnakes, biting insects and summer storms are the hazards.
