Inlet Beach Regional Access Fishing

6.5· Beach · Walton County, FL

Free: No entry fee at this beach access (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Inlet Beach Regional Access is the largest of Walton County's public beach accesses, at the east end of South Walton, with 117 parking spaces, accessible restrooms, an accessible boardwalk and three dune walkovers onto a wide Gulf beach. The surf gives pompano and Gulf whiting in the troughs in spring and fall, redfish on the bars, and Spanish mackerel, bluefish and ladyfish in summer. Fish a double-drop rig with sand fleas or shrimp in the first trough, or spoons when mackerel break, on a moving tide with clean green water. Lifeguards cover the beach from March through October, so fish early or late and stay well away from swimmers. Walton County bans shark fishing, chumming and bloodbaiting from its beaches. Watch for rip currents, stingrays and afternoon lightning.
