How we score it

We run a complex forecasting algorithm that combines tides, wind, rain, sea state, and species preferences to generate a fish forecast score (0-100) for each spot.

What this map means

Pin colors show forecast quality for the day and time on the timeline under the map, so you can scan for the better spots to open first. Drag it, or press play, to watch the pins (and the wind and rain) change through the week.

Chart and satellite

Chart is a nautical-style map built from open survey data (Open Waters Seascape): depth shading, contour lines and spot soundings below low tide, in feet or meters (the m / ft switch), with roads and trails for access. It is a guide for anglers, not for navigation. Satellite shows the imagery. Open a spot's page to see how the seabed shelves away from it.

Saltwater fishing - your map to the coast

The coastline runs for thousands of miles and offers some of the most varied saltwater fishing in the world. From rock jetties and long fishing piers to surf beaches and backcountry flats, there are thousands of spots where anglers target redfish, snook, speckled trout, pompano, sheepshead, and dozens more species all year round.

Current forecast rating

Each spot is color-coded from the latest available weather and marine forecast, including tide timing, wind, swell, rain, and your selected species. Ratings are planning aids rather than catch guarantees; open a spot to see the confidence and signals behind its score.

Spots explained

A spot is a named fishing location along the coast - it might be a pier, jetty, bridge, beach, or seawall. Each spot on Where's The Fish? includes GPS coordinates, species lists, access notes, and a detailed fishing guide written for that location.

Seasonal tips

Spring and summer bring Spanish mackerel runs, tarpon, and snook along the beaches and passes. Fall is prime time for redfish as they school up inshore, while winter brings sheepshead, pompano, and whiting to many pier and beach spots. The forecast adapts to what is in season.

Use the map above to pan along the coastline and find spots near you. Tap any pin to see the current forecast, then open the full spot page for tide-by-tide breakdowns, species info, and local access advice. You can also search by name or browse spots by state using the links above.

Whether you're a beginner looking for an easy pier session or an experienced angler scouting unfamiliar jetties and flats, the map is designed to help you make the most of your time on the coast.
