Cedar Point Pier Fishing

7.7· Pier· Dauphin Island, AL

Free: Free entry and free parking; open 24 hours except Christmas Day (checked Oct 17, 2026)

Cedar Point Pier is a free Mobile County fishing pier at the mainland end of the Dauphin Island bridge in Coden, reaching more than 880 feet out from Cedar Point into the shallow water where lower Mobile Bay meets the Mississippi Sound. It is open around the clock every day except Christmas, with nighttime security, restrooms and free parking. Speckled trout, white trout, redfish and croaker are the everyday catch, with sheepshead and black drum on the pilings in late winter and spring and flounder in the fall. The tide range is small, so wind, river flow and moving water matter more than the clock. Bring your own bait and tackle; the county allows two rods each and no cast nets or crabbing. Summer lightning is the main hazard on the long, exposed deck.
