Free: Free county park, open in daylight only (checked Oct 17, 2026)

Memories Fish Camp is a free Mobile County park on the Fowl River beside the Fowl River Road bridge, south of Theodore: a long-time family fish camp the county bought in 2019 and reopened in February 2024 with new bulkhead work, a dock, a boat ramp and an accessible kayak launch. The county lists bank fishing, so anglers can work the bulkhead and dock edges without a boat. The Fowl River is brackish, which means speckled trout, redfish and flounder share it with largemouth bass and bream, and the balance tips with every heavy rain. From late September saltwater fish move up the river, and cold fronts push them into the deep holes on its bends, while croaker and catfish fill the warm months. Live shrimp under a cork or on a light Carolina rig covers it. The park is open in daylight only; watch for boats using the ramp.
