Lori Wilson Park Fishing

Free: Free parking at this county beach park (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Lori Wilson Park is Brevard County's big regional beach park in north Cocoa Beach: a band of maritime hammock with free parking, restrooms and showers on both its north and south sides, a 3,155-foot nature boardwalk and six dune crossovers onto a wide Atlantic beach. The county lists surf fishing among its attractions, and the city staffs a lifeguard tower in the middle of the park every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., so anglers set up toward either end. Pompano and whiting are the cool-season mainstays, bluefish and Spanish mackerel pass on the spring and fall migrations, and snook, jacks, redfish and sharks crowd in behind the fall mullet run. The park closes at dusk, and dogs are welcome in its fenced dog park but not on the beach. Rip currents and summer lightning are the hazards to plan around.
