Ramp Road Park is the City of Cocoa Beach's park on the Banana River side of town, at the west end of Ramp Road, with motorized and kayak launch ramps and a seawalled shoreline where the city lists fishing. It reopened in June 2026 after several months of construction and improvements. The park looks across a channel to the mangrove islets of the Thousand Islands, and the shallow, clear Banana River around them holds redfish, black drum and spotted seatrout all year, with snook, jacks, ladyfish and mangrove snapper in the warm months and sheepshead in winter. Live shrimp and soft plastics are the local standards. The river has almost no tide, so the wind decides where the bait goes. Parking now runs through the city's parking program. Keep clear of the ramps and kayakers, and watch for manatees and lightning.
