Robert P. Murkshe Memorial Park is a 2.5-acre Brevard County beach access at 16th Street South in Cocoa Beach, a local favorite that the county lists for surf fishing. It is small and simple: a free lot shaded by sea grapes, a restroom, an outdoor shower and a picnic pavilion, with a paved walk to a single dune crossover. No lifeguard tower is listed here, which suits a dawn session with a sand spike and a bucket of sand fleas. Pompano and whiting are the cool-season staples, bluefish and Spanish mackerel pass through in spring and fall, and snook, jacks and redfish push close when mullet pour down the beach in autumn. Work the flood tide into the trough. The lot is small, the park is open from dawn to dusk, and the city's leashed dog beach ends at the park's north side.
