Vanderbilt Beach Park Fishing

6.0· Beach · Collier County, FL

Free: No entry fee; visitors without a county beach permit pay to park (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Vanderbilt Beach Park is Collier County's beach park at the end of Vanderbilt Beach Road in north Naples, a wide, clear-water Gulf beach a short drive south of Wiggins Pass. It is a popular swimming beach, so anglers fish it early and late: snook cruise the trough right at the water's edge in summer, pompano and Gulf whiting feed in the cooler months, and Spanish mackerel, ladyfish and jacks chase bait along the beach in spring and fall. Walk the trough at first light with a white jig or a live shrimp, or soak shrimp or sand fleas for pompano. County code lists fishing among the ways the public may use this beach but bans shark fishing and chumming here. There is a parking garage with a daily fee for visitors, restrooms, foot showers and a beach concession. Keep clear of swimmers and watch for stingrays and lightning.
