Plaza de Luna Fishing

6.2· Seawall · Pensacola, FL

Free: Free city park (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Plaza de Luna is the City of Pensacola's waterfront park at the south end of Palafox Street, with a paved promenade along the Pensacola Bay seawall, and the city lists fishing among the park's uses. It is the easiest saltwater fishing in downtown Pensacola: park, walk to the wall and drop a bait. Sheepshead, black drum and redfish work the seawall all year, speckled trout and white trout come through in the cooler months, and Spanish mackerel, ladyfish and jacks chase bait along the wall in summer. A moving tide and a light south breeze fish best, early and late in the day. Parking is beside the park, and the concession and its restrooms are open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The park is open sunrise to sunset unless posted. Mind the barnacles on the wall, the lightning and the sun.
