Fee to fish: State park entrance fee per vehicle (checked Sep 27, 2026)
Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park, south of Flagler Beach, protects the sugar mill ruins of a plantation destroyed in the Second Seminole War, and its boat ramp dock on Bulow Creek is a quiet place to fish; the state park says anglers can fish from the dock or a boat. The creek is a winding, marsh-lined tidal stream and a designated state canoe trail, holding redfish, spotted seatrout and black drum, with sheepshead and flounder in the cooler months and jacks and ladyfish when it is warm. Shrimp and small soft plastics suit the narrow water. The tide is small here, so rain and wind shape the water as much as the moon. The park opens only five days a week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Tuesday and Wednesday, with a small vehicle fee. Watch for boats at the ramp, insects and summer storms.
