Carrabelle Beach Fishing

6.6· Beach · Franklin County, FL

Free: Free parking and free entry (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Carrabelle Beach is a Franklin County beach park on US 98 just west of Carrabelle, facing St. George Sound, with free parking, restrooms, an outdoor shower and picnic pavilions. The sound here is shallow and gentle, with grass flats close by, and anglers wade and cast for speckled trout, redfish and flounder, with pompano, Spanish mackerel, whiting and bluefish in the warmer months and sheepshead on the bars in winter. Fish the grass edges and sand troughs on a rising tide with live shrimp, a soft plastic or a pompano jig. Old Carrabelle Beach, a short drive away, has no facilities and is favored by anglers for its flats. There are no lifeguards; watch for stingrays, oysters, traffic on US 98 and lightning.
