Carrabelle River Walk and Wharf Fishing
6.5· Pier· Carrabelle, FL
The Carrabelle River Walk and Wharf is the city's working-waterfront park at the end of Marine Street, with accessible fishing piers over the tidal Carrabelle River, a shaded pavilion, fish cleaning stations and a restroom. The river empties into St. George Sound a few miles downstream, so the water swings between salty and tea-colored with the tide and the rain. Anglers here work shrimp under the pier edges for redfish, and the river holds sheepshead, black drum, flounder and trout through much of the year. Fish the moving tide, early or late, with light spinning gear. The park sits beside the city boat ramp, so watch for trailers and boat wakes. Parking is close by, and the city lists no fee for using the piers.
