Ochlockonee Bay Boat Ramp Fishing

6.3· Pier · Franklin County, FL

Free: Free entry; ramp open around the clock (checked Sep 27, 2026)

The Ochlockonee Bay Boat Ramp is a small Franklin County ramp at the southwest end of the US 98 bridge over Ochlockonee Bay, on the Alligator Point side, with a fishing dock and a few picnic tables; the FWC lists it as open 24 hours with no fee. Ochlockonee Bay is the shallow, tidal mouth of the Ochlockonee River on Apalachee Bay, and the county's tourism office names speckled trout, redfish, flounder, sheepshead and sharks here, with tarpon in the bay from mid-April to October. From the dock, fish live shrimp under a popping cork for trout and reds, or shrimp and crab on the bottom for sheepshead and drum, on a moving tide. The water is shallow and the ramp is recommended for kayaks and small boats. Watch for oyster bars, soft mud, boat traffic and summer storms.
