Bald Point State Park Fishing

7.0· Beach · Franklin County, FL

Fee to fish: State park entrance fee per vehicle, less on foot or by bike (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Bald Point State Park sits on Alligator Point where Ochlockonee Bay meets Apalachee Bay, a quiet, natural spot for inshore fishing from shore. Anglers wade out to oyster bars and fish the beaches at the North End and Sunrise accesses, or use the small fishing pier where Bald Point Road ends on Ochlockonee Bay. Redfish, speckled trout, flounder and sheepshead are the mainstays, with Spanish mackerel, bluefish and pompano in the warmer months. Fish the oyster bars and grass edges on a rising tide with live shrimp, soft plastics or gold spoons. It is a state park open 8 a.m. to sunset, with a small entrance fee, restrooms and picnic pavilions. Watch for sharp oysters, stingrays, soft mud and lightning.
