Bonita Beach Park Fishing

6.1· Beach · Bonita Springs, FL

Free: No entry fee; some parking free, other lots metered or temporarily closed (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Bonita Beach Park sits at the southern tip of Bonita Beach, the Gulf beach of Little Hickory Island in Bonita Springs, right beside the Collier County line. It is a popular swimming beach by day, but the surf in front of it fishes well early and late: pompano and whiting along the bars from fall to spring, Spanish mackerel, ladyfish and jacks on the bait runs, snook in the trough in summer and redfish, blacktip sharks and the odd cobia in the warm months. Fish well away from the marked swim zone on a rising tide with sand fleas, shrimp or jigs. From September 8, 2026 the park's parking lot and amenities are closed for Hurricane Ian repairs, and walkers reach the beach through Bonita Beach Access #1 next door. Watch for storm debris in the sand, stingrays and lightning.
