Cove Road Park is a small county-maintained park at the end of Cove Road in Port Salerno, on the west shore of the Indian River Lagoon across from St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park. It is mainly a kayak launch beach, and Martin County also lists fishing here. Clean water pushes in from the nearby St. Lucie Inlet, so the lagoon edge holds snook, spotted seatrout, redfish, jacks and mangrove snapper through the warm months, with sheepshead in winter and the odd pompano or bluefish when the weather cools. Fish the moving tide, especially the early incoming, early or late in the day. There is parking and there are picnic areas, but no restrooms are listed. Shuffle your feet when wading, keep clear of launching paddlers and watch for boat wakes.
