Jupiter Inlet at DuBois Park is where the Loxahatchee River and the Intracoastal meet the Atlantic, in sight of the red Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. Anglers fish the paved south jetty and the rocky inlet shoreline reached from DuBois Park and neighboring Jupiter Beach Park, over clear, fast water that makes this one of Palm Beach County's best-known snook spots. Tarpon roll through in summer and fall, mangrove snapper and sheepshead hold on the rocks, pompano run the mouth in winter and spring, and jacks, bluefish and Spanish mackerel chase bait at the mouth. Parking is free and both parks are open sunrise to sunset, but the county keeps the inlet jetty at Jupiter Beach Park open for fishing 24 hours. Watch for slippery rocks, heavy boat traffic, strong current and the guarded swim areas, where fishing is not allowed.
