Sawfish Bay Park Fishing

7.3· Pier · Jupiter Inlet Colony, FL

Sawfish Bay Park is a small Town of Jupiter park on the Loxahatchee River, upriver from the Jupiter Inlet, with a fishing pier, a boardwalk along the water, a fish cleaning station and a kayak launch. The river here holds snook and mangrove snapper along the pier and the seawall through the warm months, sheepshead and black drum over winter, and jacks, ladyfish and the odd tarpon that follow bait up and down on the tide. Fish the moving tide with live shrimp, pilchards or small swimbaits, and fiddler crabs for sheepshead. The park has restrooms, picnic shelters and a water fountain, and it is open from sunrise to sunset. Parking is in marked spaces only, and dogs and alcohol are not allowed. Watch for boat traffic, strong tidal currents and summer lightning.
